Training Venues

Because of the size of West Suffolk Swimming Club, we train at a number of venues. Swimmers are drawn from a wide geographical area so the three main training pools are spread over the Borough of St Edmundsbury.

Haverhill Leisure Centre in Ehringshausen Way, Haverhill, CB9 0ER, provides a six-lane 25m pool. It is the main training venue for the ‘Haverhill End’ swimmers.

Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre is situated in Beetons Way, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3TT. This is a six-lane, 33.3m pool which has recently been refurbished and now has a boom to convert the pool to 25m. There is state of the art timing equipment and new spectator seating. A moving floor in the ‘deep end’ provides for additional flexibility during galas. It is one of the two training venues for ‘Bury End’ swimmers and is now the main venue for club galas.

Culford School Sports Centre is situated in the grounds of Culford School in the village of Culford just a few miles north of Bury St Edmunds IP28 6TX, and offers a six-lane, 25m deck-level pool. It is one of the two training venues for the ‘Bury End’ swimmers.
