If coaching or officiating are not the thing for you, but you still think that you would like to help your children in their swimming, then maybe offering to help in the running of the club is the answer.
The club always needs help and there are lots of things that you could do:

join the management committee
help serve drinks for the officials during club galas
help on the door
sell raffle tickets
look after the club notice board
help organise the open meet
be a car park attendant at the open meet
help run the electronic timing system
organise a social event
find club sponsors
write gala reports
just helping to put things away at the end of a gala

there really is something that everyone can help with, something that suits your skills or how much (or little) time you can afford to give.
